Falling Can Be the Beginning of the End

Several reports state someone falls every 11 seconds. I have been one, several of my friends have fallen some severe damages. We can stop or at least minimize falling, especially older people with brittle bones.

When you stand up, do you have to take a few seconds to get your balance?

Did you know that some blood pressure medicines, antihistamines, and even low Vitamin D can up your fall risk?

Vision problems can also contribute to falling.

As do stiff joints--weak hips or knees and alcohol.

All these can be made better to a point you are less likely to fall.
Poor vision or depth perception create falling risks. Get eyes checked regularly.

Allergies can be culprits---as well as colds, they can cause dizziness. Be extra careful with a head cold especially going downstairs. Hold the handrail on steps, even if it's just one step. I fell last year stepping up a curb and broke three fingers and lacerated above my eye.

Exercise will help those stiff joints. I watch Bog and Ray physical therapists videos on youTube. This was today's video.

I get no commission or compensation for recommending them.

The videos are not long and filled with good, easy to follow and light-hearted advice.

You can also get exercise videos and books on Amazon. Check out this one. It's one of the best.
