Age Stress and Modern Technology

Today's technology can overwhelm many of us over 65, mainly because it changes like a chameleon. We get to know how to write and send an email and suddenly our family is texting. This means learning how to use our cell phone for more than calling and let's face it 'leaving a message'.

Does anyone answer their phone anymore?

We figure out how to do it and wham, we are bombarded with apps, most of them we would never use.

All these changes in a New York minute can cause us stress we don't need. Our lives are filled with enough stress just aging.

'May I suggest we stress less and focus on good aspects of today's technology like---

 SAFETY'.
As when you are on a landline phone, 911 is for an emergency. If you are not in an area your cell phone provider covers, try it anyway, sometimes another server will pick it up. If not, TEXT someone and tell them you need help.

Make sure you have programmed your cell phone for 'find my phone'.

Another good idea when in an emergency and the person you call doesn't answer their phone, text them. People will often read a text sooner than they will listen to a phone message, especially if they are busy.

Next, we are going to focus on using today's technology to keep from being lonely. How to socialize in a purely 'techy' world, and it's more than Facebook.
