Why do our bone joints hurt as we get older?

Is there a connection between wrinkled skin and aching bones?

Yes, there is a connection and it is 'collagen', considered the most important protein in our body. It is in bones, joints, skin, and muscles. Collagen gives our skin elasticity.

Unfortunately, as we age we produce less collagen and get wrinkled skin and pained joints.

I just put a batch of beef neck bones in the crockpot, added salt, pepper, liquid amino acids, and water. I am making collagen-rich bone broth. The gelatin from the bones is filled with collagen.

You can buy bone broth, but I enjoy making my own and controlling what is in it. It's easy to do. Recipe below.

Gelatin is an easily obtainable form of collagen. I remember years ago hearing gelatin was good for strong nails and lovely hair. Now I'm learning it is great for skin and joints.

Articles about Gelatin and Collagen claim grass fed beef is best and healthiest. I checked out gelatin supplements and this one is highly recommended.

This is my easy bone broth.

I use grass-fed meat neck bones.

Into the crockpot. Add liquid amino-acid

Salt, pepper, and cover with water.

Cook on high till comes to a boil then low for 10 to 12 hours.

Skim off foam.

When done, I take all good meat off the bones, and use with vegetables for quickie meals. I cool the broth then pour into glass containers and freeze some. I can sip warm broth for a relaxing drink or use in stews and casseroles.
